Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Medicine is a comprehensive natural health care system that has been used to diagnose, treat, and prevent illnesses for thousands of years. It is based on a concept of vital energy or Qi (pronounced "chee") that flows throughout the body and regulates a person's emotional and physical balance. Pain and ill-health result when the flow of Qui is disrupted or blocked by many things including disease, injuries, and medication, as well as lifestyle factors such as emotional states, poor diet, and stress.

Acupuncture, a form of Traditional Chinese Medicine, is used to stimulate specific points on the body by inserting very fine needles into those areas. It may start the flow of pain-decreasing bio-chemicals or increase the immune response to a specific site in the body that is injured or vulnerable to disease. It is the stimulation of these points that taps into the body's innate healing abilities.

Yoga & Pilates
Yoga offers a gentle exercise system consisting of numerous stretching movements designed to help the healing process. One-on-one yoga sessions are tailored to each patient using a treatment plan prescribed by the doctor.

Pilates is a guided exercise program used to reestablish stability within the joints, engage the core, improve body awareness and retrain/strengthen weak muscles. Pilates training is available with or without the Pilates Reformer, a piece of resistance equipment used to optimize balance, strength and flexibility while creating minimal impact on the joints. All Pilates sessions are one on one with an experienced Pilates instructor, and are tailored to each patient under the careful recommendation of the doctor.

Sauna
Sauna is known to have many physical and mental benefits, and is prescribed for the treatment of a large range of ailments. At it's most basic, sauna is used to soothe and relax tired muscles, relieve stress and detoxify the body through perspiration. Additionally, sauna has been shown to raise the body's metabolic rate, augment kidney functioning and treat symptoms associated with: arthritis, muscle and joint injury, allergies, sinus congestion and even sunburn and skin disease. Regular use of sauna has also been found to decrease rates of illness by stimulating the immune system through induction of a hyperthermic state.

Asula offers private sauna sessions so you may de-stress, detox and relax in comfort. Sauna sessions are scheduled for up to 60 minutes, with no more than one person allowed in the sauna at a time. Certain protocols recommend repeated interchange between sauna and shower, and you are provided your own private shower and locker room and two towels for showering and sitting in the sauna. We request that you please wear athletic or swimming attire in the sauna.
