Dr. Shannon Robertson

Dr. Shannon Robertson Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Shannon’s interest in health began in high school in upstate New York where she spent a year collecting data on nerve cells at the University of Albany and co-authored a research paper on fetal alcohol syndrome. She set her sights on pursuing a future in the allopathic medical field but made a drastic career change as a junior at Cornell University after shadowing a chiropractor. The field of chiropractic care resonated immediately with her, as it centered on the body’s natural, powerful ability to heal itself and focused on finding the cause of a patient’s condition versus simply treating the symptoms. Dr. Shannon graduated magna cum laude from Cornell, majoring in biology with a concentration in neurobiology, and went on to earn a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States four years later.

Dr. Shannon has spent the last five years working in Eugene, OR, providing quality care for patients with all types of pain, from acute to chronic, and patients of all ages, from 10 days old to 93 years old. She is certified in a chiropractic technique specifically designed for pregnant patients, the Webster technique, and is in the process of completing a 200-hour advanced certification through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). Her treatment style is diverse and incorporates a variety of techniques based upon the preference and needs of her patients; she is skilled in both the high-velocity diversified adjusting style as well as several gentler options, including activator-assisted and drop-table. She focuses a portion of every treatment on muscle work by utilizing a combination of trigger point massage, stretching, ultrasound, gua sha, and taping. In addition to in-office treatment, she prescribes personalized at-home rehabilitation exercise programs and regularly educates patients on ergonomics, diet, physical activity, stress and anxiety reduction, and effective sleep habits.

When she is not in the office, Dr. Shannon loves to spend her days being an active mom of two toddlers, watching the Duck football team dominate the field, dabbling with acrylic paints, cooking Paleo foods, and exploring the beautiful Oregon hiking trails with her husband, kids, and Goldendoodle.
